Air Source Heat Pumps in the South West

What is an ASHP?

Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) are an energy efficiency measure that can significantly reduce your heating costs. Using outside air as it’s heating source an ASHP can provide heat at temperatures as low as -10°C, far lower than most gas boilers are capable of. Depending on the type installed, ASHPs can be used to heat both your home and water supply efficiently. In contrast to other conventional heating systems, ASHPs require far less energy to
operate. Installation of an ASHP can effectively save you money on heating costs whilst also providing a reliable heat source for your home.

Types of ASHP

There are two distinct types of ASHPs: Air-to-Water and Air-to-Air. Air-to-Water ASHPs work by taking heat from the outside and transferring it into the home using water pipes and radiators. Air-to-air ASHPs produce warm air which is then circulated around your home by a network of fans. However, all ASHPs reduce the energy needed to heat your home, ensuring that you are doing your bit for the environment whilst saving yourself some money.

What will it cost me?

The cost of installing an ASHP is dependent on the size of your dwelling. Whilst ASHPs may be a costly initial investment, you can upwards of £1,000 on energy bills. To make the installation of an ASHP more accessible you could be eligible for ECO4 or Government lead funding to contribute to or cover the cost. We can check if you meet the eligibility criteria.

This is a great way to access green energy solutions and reduce your carbon footprint while keeping your energy bills in check.

Cavity Wall Insulation

What is CWI?
A Cavity Wall is a double wall consisting of two vertical layers joined together by metal ties and a space between them. Installing cavity wall insulation into that space is a great energy efficiency measure to help save on heating bills. It’s installed by drilling into the external walls and blowing insulation
materials into the air space, reducing heat loss.

CWI has low thermal conductivity and closed-cell technology, meaning it doesn’t absorb moisture and provides maximum insulation. It’s definitely worth considering to improve your homes energy efficiency.

Why Cavity Wall Insulation?
Cavity wall insulation is one of the most effective measures for reducing heat loss in your home. Not only are there no aftercare requirements it also
guarantees up to 70% reduction of heat loss from your property. CWI can
reduce heating bills by up to 30%, making it very attractive for homeowners. Our trusted installers use only BDA approved materials that come with a 25 year guarantee, providing the peace of mind that you are investing in a
reliable product.

What is the cost of this work?
Generally, the cost of CWI is dependent on type and size of your of dwelling. Detached homes, which tend to have more external walls, the cost will be higher. Fortunately, there are several avenues of funding available to help with the cost of installation.

ECO4 and Government lead funding are two potential sources for
homeowners looking for assistance. Click below to see if you’re eligible.

Heating Upgrades

Gas boilers

If you have a non-condensing boiler we may be able to upgrade this to a
condensing gas combi-boiler through ECO4 or government lead funding.

Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP)

If your property is ‘off-gas’ meaning it uses oil, LPG, electric or solid fuel to heat it you may be eligible for a heating upgrade to ASHP*.
*This can only be installed alongside Solar PV panels.

Electric Storage Heaters (ESH)

If Electric Storage Heaters heat your home you may be eligible for an upgrade to Modern Slimline Storage Heaters or even an Air Source Heat Pump.

First Time Central Heating

If a gas meter was present before April 2022 you may be eligible for a free heating upgrade to First-time central heating (Gas Boiler).

External Wall Insulation

What is EWI?

External Wall Insulation (EWI) is an efficient energy-saving measure which can drastically reduce energy use in the home. It involves applying the
insulation material to the external walls of a building before covering it with a range of attractive, individually tailored finishes such as plaster-work, render, pebble dash or paneled/tiled cladding.

Benefits of EWI

Installing EWI is an excellent way to improve both the exterior finish of your
property and potentially increase it’s value. Additionally, EWI can provide up to £400 savings annually on energy bills. This makes it a great investment
aesthetically and financially.

Is EWI suitable for my home?

External wall insulation is particularly effective on traditionally more difficult-to-heat solid wall properties. The insulation works by creating a thermal
barrier between the exterior and interior of the home, helping to maintain a consistent temperature throughout. This method of insulating can be
applied to all wall types providing benefits and options to all homeowners.

How much will it cost?

The price of EWI is dependent on the size of your property. There are government funding schemes which may be able to assist with the cost. Check your eligibility using the below link.

Internal Wall Insulation

What is IWI?

Internal wall insulation (IWI) is a highly efficient energy saving measure that involves fitting insulation material to the interior walls of your property. This is then covered in a vapour barrier to protect from air and moisture
penetration.

Any wall sockets will be extended so that they are still functioning, any removed radiators will be refitted, and the walls are completely re-plastered ready for redecorating post installation.

What are the benefits?

Internal Wall Insulation prevents heat loss, keeps individual rooms warmer all whilst saving you up to 35% on your energy bills. IWI also significantly reduces the possibility of condensation appearing in your home.

What does it cost?

The cost of installing IWI varies depending on the number of rooms, and their dimensions, to be insulated. Kitchens and bathrooms are excluded from works due to the walls not being unobstructed. All the installers we work with offer a 25 year warranty on any IWI installed.

You may be eligible for ECO4 or Government lead funding schemes to
contribute to or cover the cost of IWI installation on your home.

Loft Insulation

What is Loft Insulation?

Loft insulation is an easy but effective energy measure which can help you to save on your heating bills. Earthwool loft roll is used as insulation, which when rolled along the loft floor and between the joists forms a barrier.

This barrier helps to retain heat in the rooms below, meaning they need less energy to to heat them. To further enhance the insulation, and make use of the extra storage in the loft, specialist loft board can be laid onto the
insulation.

Utilizing loft insulation can be a great way to reduce energy costs whilst
increasing thermal comfort in your home.

What are the benefits?

Loft insulation has a multitude of benefits, most importantly its ability to
reduce, on average, 1/3 of heat loss through your roof. It can be carried out on any roof with an accessible loft space and will dramatically increase your home’s energy efficiency rating.

Furthermore, loft insulation is designed to last 40 years therefore it’s an ideal solution for any homeowner wanting a warmer more cost effective home.

What does it cost?

The cost to install loft insulation is dependent the loft’s square meterage, however, our installers offer competitive rates and ECO4 or government funding may be able to reduce or cover your costs.
